Insight on our contactless vital sign technology
rPPG TECHNOLOGY

rPPG (remote Photoplethysmography) is a non-contact technology used to measure physiological signals—mainly heart rate—by analyzing subtle color changes in the skin captured through a camera (typically a webcam or smartphone camera).
How it Works:
- Capture: A regular camera records a short facial video under normal lighting conditions.
- Light Reflection: Ambient light reflects off the skin. As blood pulses through the vessels, it causes micro color variations in the face—particularly in the green channel of the RGB spectrum.
- Signal Processing: Advanced algorithms isolate and amplify these subtle changes across the RGB (red, green, blue) channels while filtering out motion artifacts & noise.
- Vital Extraction: The system reconstructs a clean pulsatile waveform and extracts vital health metrics such as heart rate, blood pressure, stress index, and more.
- Delivery: The results are delivered in real time via the WellTra app or smart kiosk, offering a seamless, contact-free health check experience.
